And so it begins... Again...

As a reward for finishing multiple proposals to the best of my ability before I have them reviewed... I allowed myself to begin a new (but old) project!

If you have read my first blog post, you'll know that I started writing when I was 12 years old. The story I wrote was a World War II historical fiction centering around a young girl who grew to love her best friend, then had to survive while her love and her family went off to war.

I revised the original story a few years ago, but I still wasn't completely happy with it. The story did not live up to what I remembered. My father cried when he read the original, and I just felt the first revision wasn't quite there yet.

After giving the story a lot of thought, I made a few plot decisions that I'm confident will make the story more genuine and give people a better idea of what it was really like during World War II, both for the soldiers and for the family members waiting for their return. In addition, I feel the changes in the way I'm going to tell the story will make the love story that much more endearing.

I've spent quite a bit of time researching various aspects of the war in relation to my main male character. When I finally started the writing process a few nights ago, I wanted to make sure what I wrote was authentic. As a very small sneak preview, I'll give you this hint: I sat listening to a recording of a B-17 engine as I wrote the first chapter of my book.

I can't wait to share the final product with all my readers in a few months. It truly brings me joy to put a story together that shares more about life, love, and faith in a way that impacts people. I can't wait to see where this story goes, as I am only about 10, 000 words in right now. Who knows how many more words to go, but the journey I am embarking on to rearrange the alphabet in a meaningful way to transport people back to the 1930's and 40's... My excitement and joy are through the roof for this enchanting tale of love and war!
